Can you use conditions within the Loop Builder?

Hey everyone - new user here and first post :) I'm trying to use the loop builder to show/hide posts with certain tags (or custom fields). So if a post has a certain tag I have a group with just the featured image and then I have another group (all in the same column for the loop to work) that has a smaller featured image, title and excerpt. If I enable conditions on each group either they both don't show or the second group does - has anyone attempted conditions within the loop builder yet? I feel Im doing everything right but there might be something Im missing. Cheers in advance - L
