Clone or duplicate page

I am using Divi 5, and all the Google results for how to duplicate a page, don't seem to apply any more. If I add a page and click "Use Divi Builder", it takes me straight into the editor with no option to choose a template or an existing page.

Are you using a plugin or a script?
When you dont mind a plugin I would highly recommend ASE
(https://wordpress.org/plugins/admin-site-enhancements/)
it is free has a lot of options that will make your wordpress live a lot easier and safer.

macobuk Thanks. I have nothing against plugins but this seems a pretty basic feature not to be part of Wordpress. Anyway, Manfred C 's answer has done what I need for now. Thanks for answering.

concerning you background colors:
just remember the layer order is
background>section>row
In order to see the background color you section(s) should be transparent or somewhat transparent

macobuk That's true. However, I have checked again and if you create a page with Section Area Background Colour set, then duplicate that page using the Layout feature, the background colour is not set in the duplicated page. I have reported the bug to Divi. Previously, I reported to them that if you set the background colour (section area) using a colour variable, it doesn't get saved in the page you're editing. You need to set it with a hex code. FYI

normally a page is made up out sections, however in Divi 5 when you set a Section Area Background Colour it is for the whole page and not per section. very strange

macobuk That is how I interpreted it. i.e. It's the background of the area that sections occupy. i.e. Left edge to right edge, and top to bottom, but not the header or footer. However, I don't know what is meant by the "Content Area Background Color".

Julian Well once again Elegant Themes messed up the namin convention
Section Area Background Color is the complete page background while Content Area Background Color is the default section background color for the page
just shoot me it does not make an sense

Manfred C Thats funny you dont get a section and row either when you start a new page just the shortcode module

Manfred C Thanks. That's it. I hadn't spotted the + button to add a layout, but I was able to do that on a new blank page, and select an existing page to duplicate. Mostly worked, but the background colour didn't come across. I'll put that down to a Divi 5 teething problem. I've already logged an issue with them where it doesn't save the page background. Thanks for your help.

I just ran into this same issue. The only departure I saw from the video is that once the new page was started, I had to get into the wireframe to see the Add Layout option. Great tip. Thanks for saving me a lot of time. 😍
