Divi 5 Starter Template Is Here!

Divi Starter Template is a complete global template foundation for Divi 5. It removes the entire setup phase by installing the core templates every real website needs — already structured, responsive, and accessible.

When you install Divi Starter Template, it sets up:

  • Global Header
  • Global Footer
  • Blog page design
  • Blog post template
  • Archive page template
  • Search results page
  • 404 page
  • Page template

All templates are:

  • fully responsive
  • fluid across screen sizes
  • consistent in spacing and typography
  • easy to customize without breaking

This alone saves hours on every project.

Mak  I know how difficult it can be to manage a website and keep everything up-to-date everywhere, but I'm curious why you didn't add the Divi 5 Starter Template under the Downloads section for your DIVI+ members (lifetime or otherwise). Adding it only in this post had me scratching my head trying to find it. Or, I thought you might have also created another sub area, like you did for Krafter and Krafter Frames, etc., and added another one called Starter Template (in addition to linking it from within the Downloads area.) Plus, please see my other post (in here) in which I pointed out that you're showing Krafter v1.9 in one location and Krafter v2.2 in another. (which you can see here: https://diviuniversity.com/portal/space/divi-community/post/new-divi-5-starter-template) If you think you need help in keeping your website organized properly, feel free to reach out to me. 🙂

I downloaded and unzipped the file to get to the DiviStarterTemplate.json. I tried importing it through BOTH the Divi Library and through the import arrows on a blank page. I both cases it throws an error saying "This file cannot be imported in this context." Maybe I'm doing something wrong...????Uggghhh so frustrating..

Michael Please follow Maks video and upload the .json file into DIVI/ThemeBuilder.

Michael Philipson

Manfred C can you possibly send me the link to that video? Thanks.

Michael Philipson

here's the erro message when trying to install the .json on a blank page.

And here's the error message when trying to install at the Divi Library:

You have to go to the [Theme Builder] AND check the "Import Preset"

Michael, don't go to D Library....instead go to T Builder....

Thank you! That worked. I sometimes wish these little tricks and tips were more clear from the developer's end of things. I think Mak could use a little help organizing all the various templates, pages, resources, etc.

Dear Mak, this is awesome, appreciate if you could provide Live preview of the templates

For anyone who has trouble successfully installing, what worked for me was deactivating all my plugins (only 5 plugins) and reattempting the install.

I was about ready to purchase the Starter Kit, but it seems to have similar installation issues another product I purchased from Mak, and the issue never got resolved. Looks like he needs a support staff. I would like to try the Starter Kit, but I don't want to waste more money if there's installation issues.

Bakari Chavanu Hi. I haven't really had any "installation" issues, but I do have serious concerns about "upgrade" issues. I'm not sure how exactly we're supposed to upgrade his products without losing modifications that we might make to our sites (in between version upgrades). If I can help you figure out your "installation" issues, just let me know. I'd be happy to lend a hand. 🙂

Gary Gordon, Thanks for offering assistance. I decided not to purchase the Starter Kit. Mak creates great Divi tutorials, but his product sales can be a bit confusing. I purchased Initia Kit when it was first released and was never able to get it to work using his instructions. He said he would schedule a zoom call to help me, but I never got a response. And now I don't see the Initia kit in my Downloads folder here in the DU.

I am interested in Krafter Presets he released a video about today, but I'm confused about that. Is it Krafter Design Kit he mentioned in the video or it the Krafter Presets product? He needs to add more information to product descriptions, especially when they're updated.
