Divi 5 with KrafterPRO: Hands Down Better
Yesterday I needed to test Fluent SMTP on my new Divi 5 site that is still in development on my localhost platform. I soon realized that wasn't possible, so I went to my live Divi 4 site and installed it there. In the process I had to create a test page and in a matter of moments I felt as if I was working in CP/M or DOS vs Windows 11. In my opinion, Divi 5 is light years ahead of Divi 4, but more importantly, KrafterPRO takes it to a new level entirely.

But Robert... weren't those the good old days? Back then, in the era of CP/M or DOS vs. Windows 11, you could still exist as a "one-man show." You were the hero when you locked the screen of the clueless with just a few commands in a .bat file and convinced them they’d caught a virus...
Today, you have to hack, crack, and pull everything apart just to somewhat understand the massive amounts of code. Okay, back then it was spaghetti code, and the step toward OOP wasn't exactly easy for us spaghetti-code writers. Everything had its time, and we matured along with it.
Yet one thing remains: a bit is a bit, and a byte is still a byte. Those who still know the old stuff have learned to find errors in the new stuff faster—or at least we pretend we do... It never gets boring.
Well, if you hadn't sent me that code a while back, I probably wouldn't have "tasted blood" and delved so deeply into SiteKrafter to understand Mak’s brilliant tool and hwo to manage some things in Sitekrafter, Krafter, KrafterPRO, Divi 5 and in the Wordpress Database.
It was a real "wow" moment seeing how Tailwind can be used as a class model in Divi 5. I would never have ventured so deep into the inner structure of Divi 5 to understand and test everything happening in the background with variables, colors, presets, and the like—including the Divi 5 Elegant API in a plugin to manage things or on other places to use wp-database direct database digging.
The highlight was the meticulous research into the plugin and finally getting it to run after hundreds of tests, or at least ensuring there are no more side effects. So, it’s also thanks to you that I stayed here at diviuniversity.com to share my knowledge, recreate others' problems in my test environment, and look for solutions. Hopefully, this encourages other members to ask their questions or present their own solutions.

You sent me on a short journey in the Wayback Machine. Things were a LOT different when we got started with PCs.
