problem entering my license code for Krafter Pro
Maybe it's already somewhere in this community, but I can't find it. Cant seem to enter my license key somewhere. When I go to the menu to 'Licensing" my screen looks like this. And there is no field to enter the code. I already looked with FTP if I could find where I could enter it without using the menu item, but I don't know which file to use for this. Maybe someone can help me?
Maybe I didn’t explain it right. I installed my website, divi and krafter pro. But the screenshot is from the website. Not divi university. I have my license code. That’s not the problem. I can’t enter my license code on my website. I get this strange gray screen where there is no field to enter the code
@funnelstoincome I would love to update but that doesn't work either. I think because I havent activated, which I can't. it says 'update not available'
@funnelstoincome I downloaded the 4.2.19 version. Deactivated the one I had installed on the website en uploaded and activated 4.2.19. But the same problem. I still get the strange gray screen in Licensing. and when I push the 'activate license' button I get the error 'You have no permission to see this page' I have the same problem on another website. Also tried to clean the cache, but that doesn't change a thing.
sandra is your user id in the wordpress has Administrator access?
Mathias G thanx gonna try that
Kiran Kumar off course I’m building it 😊
Mathias G unfortunately this all does not help.
Hello Sandra, You can also try to deactivate your cache plugin completly and try again some time it blocks also it can also be your antivvirus program if you use extended outside the windows defender.
Just want to mention.
Robert J unfortunately this all doesn’t help.
Sandra, I feel for you although I don't think I can be much help since I'm new to this too having purchased Krafter Pro just a week ago and have been busy pulling my hair out ever since while trying to get this to work. But, besides that, I have made it a bit further ahead than you seem to be at the moment. So, I'm showing you what I did so far in case it helps a bit.
1) I downloaded the Divi Version: 5.13.1 Theme (which I had purchased from Elegant themes) to my brand new Wordpress install. And confirmed that it is my live theme.
2) I downloaded the paid Krafter Pro zip file from my dashboard and uploaded it to my Wordpress site as a plugin. I just now updated it to Version 4.2.22.
3) [This where things started to fall apart.] Unlike you, I do have a place to input my license. See screenshot #1. Now if you don't have a place to input your license that's very strange. Let's look at a few basic things: 1) Did you upload the KrafterPro.zip file to your site's themes? I ask because you didn't actually mention this in your discussion so far.
4) Assuming you did all that, what I did was go to the KrafterPro heading below the "Settings" menu. (See screen#3) This is supposed to tell me the version of the design system I (supposedly) installed. If you don't see all this stuff then let me know and we'll see if we can solve this together.😍 Hopefully others more knowledgeable can see this and dive in to help us both.
David Parsons I also have DIVI 5.13.1 And I uploaded the latest version that was available on DIVI University Krafter Pro. I can't update to 4.22.2 . It says the update is not available (I think because I can't enter my license code). So I'm in sort of a loop I think. As long as I can't enter my license code I can't update or change the Brand studio etc.
The od thing with my Krafter Pro Plugin install iis that, even though I've hit the "Install Design System" button and the version says "V3.1.6" it says "No design system detected". (See "System Status" Screenshot)
Besides that I have below the "System Status" notifiacation is a huge block of code that fills the the width and the depth of the entire page. Anyone know what that's about?
And just one more thing: On this page there is a big empty area that saays: "Drop a design system JASON file here" and there is a button "Chose file". But I have no idea where this JASON file is.
Anyone?
David Parsons The choose file button is when you upload the json files yourself. But I didn't use that button. I used the update design system and for me that is one of the things that worked.
David Parsons in the zip file is a map downloads where the json files are.
David Parsons It’s much easier to use Update Design System, which has been available for a while now in the newer versions of KrafterPRO.
sandra That is amazing. No one and no video I watched, mentioned that the .Jason file was in there. Thanks for this. I'll have to give this a try since the auto recognition feature that is supposed to sense that I've installed the plugin and the design system was not working. You're the onlt one that brought this to my attention. I😍
I saw that on DIVI University I could now download 4.22.2, So I did. I deactivated the older version and uploaded this one. And it still gives the same gray screen for Licensing
I also cleaned my Cache with WP-Optimize. But that also doesn't help.
Mathias G The site I was working to install KrafterPro on was a fresh install of Wordpress and DIVI5. That's why this is so perplexing. I'm starting to question my decision to get this product. It looked so easy in the videos.😔
David Parsons I’m going to do a completely fresh installation of WordPress, Divi, and KrafterPRO. If everything works flawlessly, I’ll post a link to the video here afterwards.
Mathias G Okay thanks. I just learned that the .Json file is inside the zip file of KrafterPro. But if its a plugin, which I'm familiar with, then wouldn't taking apart the original .zip run the ability to upload a plugin via a .zip?
David Parsons To install the plugin, you need to select the .zip file when you’re under Plugins. If you upload it via FTP, the folder should be unzipped first.
However, I recommend installing it using the .zip file directly under Plugins.
Mathias G Yes, of course. That's what I did on the day after I purchased KrafterPro a week or so ago. But it still didn't work. I suppose if you extracted the .Jason file from the package there would be no need to mess with the plugin upload. Am I right?
David Parsons You can’t unzip the JSON file itself. It contains the variables and presets used by KrafterPRO.
What you can do is unzip the plugin file “krafterpro-4.2.22”, go to the Downloads folder inside it, select the latest “KrafterPro_Design_System_3.1.6” file, and upload that into the large field you mentioned. That should import all the presets and variables. However, that’s not really the intended way to install the Design System.
It’s difficult for me to know why it didn’t work in your case since I haven’t seen the installation process on your site.
One thing that came to mind, though: do you know which version of PHP your hosting is running? It may not be related, but sometimes outdated PHP versions can cause certain things not to work properly.
Mathias G I tried it on an existing website and on 2 fresh ones. All give the same gray screen. I also tried different browsers. I tried cleaning cache and disabling plugins.
Mathias G i also checked the PHP. One site is on 8.2.33, another is on 8.1.34 and another on 8.4 and all have the same issue
Mathias G Is it possible to enter the license code with FTP? And in what file does it go than? That would be a game changer for me.
Mathias G are there maybe certain php settings that can be the problem and I need to change too?
sandra That could be possible.
You could check the Site Health status of your WordPress site under WordPress Site Health. You could also enable WP_DEBUG mode. That may show any error messages or warnings that could help identify what’s causing the issue.
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to enter the license via FTP.
Mathias G Yes I just shecked and my Godaddy hosting is currently running PHP8.5. This, I believe, is the optimal setting.
I then found the .jason file inside the downloads package and popped it into large blue field the says "Drop a design system JASON file here". It opened up a ton of code but I see no "Save" option. So I did it again. The bottom of the page has a ton of code there. (See screeshot) Ihave no idea what I'm supposed to do with this.
Despite all I've done on my site to try to get Krafter to show up it's menue on the left side of the page it still doesn't. This is disapointing. 😒
David Parsons It should work. PHP 8.5 is still quite new, so there may still be some bugs that could potentially cause issues in the worst case.
To be on the safe side, you could check whether the plugins you’re using are compatible with PHP 8.5. PHP 8.4, however, should be supported by most plugins by now.
mak Can you please help me with this issue. I'm on the latest version now but still can't enter my license code. And still waiting for a solution from you. Every time I want to update the version I have to deactivate it and delete it and upload the newer version. my licensing screen is still like the picture above. And when I want to use the button te activate the license (like in the Dashboard on top of the screen) I still get the error that I have no permission. But I'm administrator!!
I'm running around in circles, and not getting happier.
