Problems with New Version Updates

Hi,

When I downloaded the new Design System file and chose Merge, I ended up with 150 colors, 228 variables, and 541 presets.

KrafterPRO is a really good product, and I'm confident it will become excellent. However, at the moment it doesn't quite feel like something I'd be comfortable using for a client project that's going to be handed over. Every time there's an update, I end up with duplicate items or things that are missing.

Right now, it feels like you need to think twice before deciding to use it, depending on the type of client you're building the site for.

Issues like these can easily make a client lose confidence. Is there any verification process for variables and presets before updates are released?

I completely understand that building a system like this is a huge amount of work, but at the moment it feels like there are still quite a few things that can go wrong.

Best regards,

Mathias

Mathias G I think the best approach is to update only the plugin, without updating the presets and variables.

As Mak mentioned previously, the plugin can even be removed later if needed, since the presets and variables are stored within Divi and remain intact. This makes plugin updates simpler while preserving the existing design system.

Kiran Kumar So, if I understand you correctly, you're saying that the recommended approach is to always install version 2.1.8 first, and then update only the plugin to 3.0.1 in order to get the Heading H1–H6 presets.

The problem is that this doesn't include things like k-content width, which I assume are only included in the newer Design System JSON file.

That means you can't simply install version 3.0.1 on its own.

Isn't the purpose of Merge to add only the items that don't already exist while leaving the existing ones untouched? Right now, it seems to keep the existing items but also adds duplicates of items that are already there, resulting in duplicate variables, presets, and colors.

Mathias G I have the same issues Mathias. When I merged yesterday, I had the same with duplicates. I "rolled back" to what I had before. I upgraded again and realized my custom gradients, images, links, texts were gone. So, I reverted back and realized they didn't have my "j-" prefix. So I added that, then I upgraded again to 3.0 and they still weren't saved. I had the same numbers you did.
I see that you can download your variables from the variables side menu on a page, but when I imported them back it saves over the upgraded 3.0 variables. And when I am trying to fix the broken rows, sections, i always have to recreate them because they won't behave like they are supposed to.
