Rookie Question
I have downloaded KrafterPRO after making a few attempts to build a website without it. It was less than stellar. :-)
My question is: Does downloading KrafterPRO remove all the presets I've previously added to my site?
I have been considering deleting the site entirely and starting over from the get-go with KrafterPRO to ensure any clutter I had created is gone.
I also downloaded WPVivid to make a backup before I deleted the site, but it stopped 53% of the way through. Grrrrr. I've got a ticket in to their support folks for that issue.

Hi KC - No KrafterPro will not remove the current presets but it will add to them. So you will see the old and the KrafterPro presets all together. Make sure to follow the install instructions for best results.

Mickey Diener I am having this same problem. I have 10 websites to convert from Divi 4 to Divi 5 with a full set of Divi 4 presets. I’ve submitted numerous tickets without any reply.
What is the best way to install KrafterPro in a pre-existing Divi 4 website that has been converted to 5 without losing the presets? From what I understand, I have to manually setup all variables - especially headlines & spacing to match the old website. This is driving me crazy, & I can’t get any help. I get it that KrafterPro is awesome for a completely new build from scratch, but what about my live websites with meticulous Divi 4 presets? Is there a tutorial somewhere?

I am in an simular situation, but in the moment, I keep my hands off my six sites I will have to refresh.
I am waiting for the new krafter-pro-plugin version, hoping, that MAK fixed all the small faults and that it gets a better way for the variables and presets. Also, I expect that it will get more values and some more features.
KrafterPro is an very small baby and is still growing, so we have to be patient.
Klaus Fabritz thanks so much for the feedback. I feel better now, I was really stressing about having to recalibrate all of my client websites all at once. I’ve finally started to get the hang of making new variables based on some already existing presets & seem to have everything syncing effectively. In my frustration, I’ve started to get the hang of it.

KrafterPRO and Presets
KrafterPRO does not change any of the Divi Options or settings. Instead, it adds variables that you can view in the Variable Manager. If you have already created your own variables—such as fonts, custom colors, or entries in 'Numbers'—KrafterPRO will not overwrite them; it simply adds its own.
The same applies to presets. If you’ve created your own presets, KrafterPRO won’t overwrite them; it adds its own presets to the list. KrafterPRO uses the settings from its specifically added variables. However, if you have previously made manual adjustments in the design settings (e.g., padding, font size, box shadows, etc.), applying a preset might override those settings. It won't delete the values in the settings panel but will prioritize the preset's styling. Feel free to test this out—it’s quite straightforward.
WPVivid and Backups
Regarding your issue with WPVivid: I suspect the backup failed because either the large amount of images has bloated the file, or the server timeout settings are too low. If you would like to adjust the settings yourself, WPVivid support often recommends these values in the Advanced Settings:
- PHP script execution timeout: Increase to 300 or 3600 seconds.
- PHP memory limit: Set to 512 MB or 1024 MB.
- Database access method: Ensure PDO is selected.
- Compress files every: Reduce to 100 MB or 200 MB.
Backup and WP Strategies
It’s a great idea to maintain different environments using a Blueprint, a Test, and a Staging environment alongside your Live site. A Blueprint allows you to quickly spin up a new installation based on your core settings. In a Test environment, you can experiment freely—if something breaks, you simply restore it from your Blueprint.
Pro Tip: Since you are already using WPVivid, keep in mind that their Pro version includes a built-in Staging feature, which makes this entire process much easier.
