Hi Mak .

I know you are working crazy hard, but please have a look at this problem.

When trying to update to the latest design system I'm getting this error message. I contacted my hosting provider and they have set MySQL max_allowed_packet setting to 16MB as recommended. Unfortunately this has not resolved the problem.

Any tips or suggestions?

Thanks.

Problems with updating latest design system

Hi everyone!

I’m planning a complete redesign of two of my existing websites using Divi 5 and KrafterPro, and I’d like to make sure I start with the cleanest possible workflow.

Both websites have been running for years and contain quite a lot more than just pages and posts: plugins, plugin data and settings, users, forms, CRM data, LMS/e-learning content, ecommerce data, automations, SEO settings, etc.

So starting with a fresh WordPress installation and simply rebuilding/importing the content isn’t really an option for me.

I’m absolutely fine with rebuilding all the pages from scratch — actually, that’s what I’m planning to do.

What I need to preserve is the existing WordPress installation and its data/ecosystem.

My question is therefore:

What would be the recommended workflow to introduce KrafterPro into an existing, established website and completely rebuild its design system with it?

For example, would you recommend:

  • cloning the existing production site to a staging/local environment;
  • removing the old Divi layouts/presets/design system while keeping the site data;
  • installing/configuring KrafterPro there;
  • importing a KrafterPro base system and adapting its variables/presets to the brand;
  • rebuilding the Theme Builder templates and pages;
  • then migrating the redesigned site back to production?

Or is there a better/safer workflow specifically recommended for KrafterPro when you cannot start from a clean WordPress installation?

I’d especially like to avoid bringing years of obsolete Divi styles/presets into the new design system while, at the same time, making absolutely sure I don’t lose any plugin data or configuration.

Basically: keep the engine and all its data, rebuild the entire body around it. 😄

Thanks for any advice on the cleanest way to approach this!

KP v4.2.17: When I define my own brand colors with "create custom Color kit" and for example use #941100 for my Primary Color, I get this not properly sorted shade range (above under "More Preview"):

1.00

I am not sure, if this is a bug.

But how can I fix that? I think it should gradually get darker from 50 to 950 and not break in the middle.

Thank you!

Hi Mak,

I'm trying to set up a fresh Design System with KrafterPRO but I'm stuck on two related points:

  1. According to the documentation/video, a "full-featured" example Design System file should be available for download in the Divi University account area, but I can't locate it anywhere.
  2. In the current plugin version there's a button to create a new, empty Design System — but clicking it doesn't do anything on my end.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to KrafterPRO → Dashboard
  2. Click "Replace" and then "Install Design System" to create a new empty Design System
  3. A new Design System should be created/opened.
  4. The page page just reloads and shows a lot of errors, starting with "Server error 500. Check PHP error log."

Environment:

  • KrafterPRO version: 4.2.17
  • Divi version: 5.13
  • WordPress version: 7.1
  • Site URL: local site, test server
  • Browser + version: Brave 1.95.101 (64-Bit)
    Chromium: 153.0.8010.37
  • Same on Firefox 156.0 (64-Bit)

Already tried:

  • Cleared page cache and browser cache
  • No plugin conflict test, just WP Divi and KrafterPro installed

Could you confirm whether this is a known issue in this version, and also point me to where the example Design System file is actually hosted? Happy to send a screenshot if useful.

Thanks!

No default design system available
  1. Ability to Save Color & Font Kits
    Provide an option to save custom Color Kits and Font Kits for easy reuse and management across the Design System. Please refer to the attached screenshot for the suggested Color Kit functionality.
  2. Seamless Design System Updates Without Overwriting Kits
    When updating the KrafterPro Design System, existing Color and Font Kits should be protected by default. The option to replace/overwrite them should be deselected by default, allowing users to explicitly choose it only when required.
  3. Protect User-Created Presets & Variables
    Any custom presets and variables created by the user specifically for that website should remain protected. Even when removing or deleting everything imported through the KrafterPro Design System, the cleanup process should identify and remove only KrafterPro-imported items while preserving all user-created presets and variables.

Thanks,
Kiran

Krafter PRO Improvements - discussed in the weekly call

Hey all, can I get input from y'all. My non-profit uses the Events Calendar Plugin for their "events" page. Now, I read that I could potentially create my own "events" landing page and subsequent single "event" templates without the plugin? Is this correct? I'm asking because I have a renewal coming up for the plugin that the non-profit would love to not have to pay to save money.
One more caveat, they also utilize "Events Tickets Plus" to sell their own tickets, which runs off of the Events Calendar Plugin.
Mak . I'd really love to get your take on this as well.

I'm still new to krafter pro but ran across something I can't resolve that I think is a bug. Using Claude and Krafter pro to get myself comfortable with the new way of designing in Divi 5. This is what Claude said: Site: pp0wop76aq.onrocket.site

  • The bug: base .et_grid_row/.et_grid_column display: grid rule missing from generated critical CSS, even after a cache clear/regeneration
  • What still works there: the preset-specific grid rules (column-count, gaps) are correctly generated and attached — it's specifically the shared base rule that's absent
  • found a manual CSS workaround (adding the display: grid rule) that confirms this is the root cause, and that you've applied that workaround on a separate site to keep working in the meantime
  • columns inside grid rows also carry leftover et_flex_column_X_24 width classes from the flex system, which fight the grid's stretch behavior" is a second, related root cause on top of the missing base rule

Hi Mak,
I was on your call this morning. Great stuff! Thank you for doing this. Please let me know if this is the correct spot to submit requests for Krafter Pro. If not, let me know where to post requests.

This note is showing "Design System Update"...it displays the note "Version 3.1.6 is available," and next to this it displays (this site is on 3.1.6).

Since the site is already running the current version, this notification seems irrelevant. Additionally, "Skip This Update" can't be done because that update is already applied.

Can you set it up so that if the version numbers are the same, this notification is not displayed?

Thank you! I appreciate all that you are doing for us.

Removal of Unnecessary Notification

Hello folks, I have seen so many good pages done with Divi 5.
When MAK is presenting new features in his videos, it looks so easy.
When Envato is showing new features in D5, it seems so logical.

But when I am designing new modules on my site, the bunch of possibilities, of dependencies, of switches, boxes, rules are destroying my mind and my small creativity.
OK, I think, I will wait for the new Krafter Update - maybe it will be easier then!?
No. More functions, more dependencies.
Clearly, Krafter is made for website experts, not for people like me with 5 to 7 different websites for my two companies, my friend, the X-Mas market...
Maybe the whole DIVI system is drifting away from an easy-home-build-website builder to an system for professionals!?

I do lift my cap for MAKs ideas, his energy, and the huge amount of time he is investing in his beloved idea!

But my question is:
Am I alone, or do others hesitate the same way?
And the new Frames? Is this the solution?
(I hesitate to ask, when the bunch of frames will be published?)
